Energy Storage Ventures LLC is a portfolio company of New York-based West Street Energy Partners L.P., a private equity fund managed by the Merchant Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. and focused on natural resources investments. ESV was formed in 2016 to develop, construct, and operate bulk hydrocarbon storage facilities, with its lead project being a natural gas liquids facility in the Salina-bedded salt formation in the Ohio River valley.
ESV’s Mountaineer NGL Storage project is the first new subsurface NGL storage project in the Marcellus/Utica wet gas play. At full build-out, the project is estimated to have a working storage capacity of 3.25 million barrels and is expected to expand as the market demands. The project is located on a 200-acre site approximately 35 miles south of Wheeling, West Virginia, and one mile north of Clarington, Ohio, fronting the Ohio River.
